NOCN Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration

Mode of Attendance: Full Time
Fee: £ 2000
Course Length: 1 Year

Why should I study this course?

This course gives learners the skills and knowledge needed to work in an office. They will learn to set out professional letters, emails and reports; use and maintain office equipment; learn how organisations are structured; manage personal and professional development; use social media effectively; store and retrieve information using paper and electronic filing systems; develop communication and working relationships with colleagues; supervise staff; produce minutes of meetings; and understand the principles of client relationships, among other tasks.

How is the course assessed?

The NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration (QCF) is a knowledge and competence based qualification and, as such, learners achieve a balance of practical skill and understanding. The qualification is achieved by a variety of methods. Knowledge is proven by an online assessment. Practical skills are assessed by coursework; observation; simulated activities; question and answer sessions; witness statements from colleagues; and evidence of prior learning, qualifications or achievements. This will be collected in a Portfolio of Evidence. Learners who have completed the NOCN Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration (QCF) can use it as evidence for some Units in this qualification. Learners will be supported by a qualified tutor/assessor who will be a subject specialist.

How many hours of study are there?

If studying part time, learners will usually meet with one of our tutors/assessors for an hour every three weeks. If full time, they will meet for an hour every week. This is to teach using the latest technology and learning techniques; carry out assessments; ensure the course criteria is being met; give feedback; and agree on how to proceed. The portfolio will include printed copies of the documents created by the learner every day at work.

How do I progress with this qualification?

Once gained learners can progress onto a relevant Level 4 course, or take a Degree in a relevant subject at numerous Universities. Or they could use it to continue or start working effectively in an office in areas such as Finance, Marketing and Administration.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners will need to have GCSEs or a relevant Level 2 Diploma to take this course. Our NOCN Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration (QCF) is particularly recommended as it counts towards Units on the Level 3 course. Also, learners will need to show competence in office and business skills so will need to work in an office environment.

Should I do any other courses at the same time?

Consider a Touch Typing short course, now considered an IT subject, allowing learners to type faster and more accurately.
